The interesting question is if atheism is used to justify these killings or not. I think this article should be updated, right now it's more or less nonsense.

Personally, I found Malirin's contribution to this passage to be rather valid, and especially the first paragraph struck me as particularly well-written. The second paragraph could have used better wording.
