'''Carlos Merida''' (Guatemala, 1891 - Mexico, 1984), was a Guatemalan [[painter]]. In México he became active in the Mexican mural movement. In 1922, he worked with [[Diego Rivera]]; they worked in the murals of the Anfiteatro Bolivar in Mexico City. After 1949, Mérida participated in several architectural projects including mosaic murals in [[Mexico City]] and the civic center in Guatemala City. In his later career he experiment with abstract and construtivist art as well as installation art in canvas, murals and mosaics.
