The GT had a mid rear mounted 5.4 liter supercharged V8 with two banks of DOHCs.  It produced 550 hp through a six-speed manual transmission, giving it 333hp/ton.  It went from 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than three seconds and could finish a quarter-mile test in 11 seconds.  It lapped Willow Springs in a time of 1.37.
