Its members were Jiang Qing, [[Zhang Chunqiao]], [[Yao Wenyuan]] and [[Wang Hongwen]]. Following Mao's death in 1976, the four were arrested and were put on trial in 1980-81. Jiang and Zhang received suspended death sentences, Yao twenty years imprisonment, and Wang life imprisonment.
