Venellope is a character in a racing videogame. Her data has been damaged, resulting in her having a glitchy nature. She constantly transforms into a cloud of static, uncontrollably shooting ahead of the other racers. Because of this, she clearly possesses an unfair advantage over them, although this is never outright mentioned. The other characters in her game opposing her participation are unfairly portrayed as bigoted and villainous. On the other hand, the main character in the movie, Ralph, who we are meant to empathize with, expresses the strange sentiment that Venellope is "just being who she is" and the other players "could love her."
The ending of the film is that Venellope chooses not to have her glitch fixed, accepting her damaged glitched self as her true self.
