The drive-by media does this "hottest-year ever" hooey almost every year, although this year they seem to be laying it on especially thick. The most accurate available temperature record is the UAH data based on satellite readings.[http://www.climatedepot.com/2014/12/03/no-record-temperatures-according-to-satellites/] By this standard, 2014 was only the seventh warmest year on record.
