The '''National Renewal Alliance''' (in portuguese: ''Aliança Renovadora Nacional'', '''ARENA''') was a [[political party]] of [[neo-conservative]] orientation that existed during the [[two-party]] system of the [[Brazilian military regime]]. On 27 October 1965, President [[Humberto de Alencar Castelo Branco]] created the Institutional Act Number 2, which extinguished the [[multiparty]] system and reduced the Brazilian political to two parties, one to give support to the current government (ARENA) and the other to house the [[opposition]] ([[Brazilian Democratic Movement]], current PMDB).
