Back in 2012, I was a senior editor on Wikipedia and could boast tens of thousands of edits as well as a clean eight-year track record. I spent much of my time in a forum called "requested moves." There I promoted the use of conventional English in titles, and opposed unnecessary reliance on foreign languages. (Wikipedia has a lot of editors from Europe who are partial to non-English terminology and spellings.) I was eventually blocked over an article I wrote about Sino-Vietnamese characters. This is a highly obscure subject. I doubt the article would been remotely controversial if anyone else had wrote it. | Back in 2012, I was a senior editor on Wikipedia and could boast tens of thousands of edits as well as a clean eight-year track record.
