Greenock is a town and former burgh at the mouth of the [[River Clyde]] in [[Inverclyde]], [[Scotland]]. Formerly a shipbuilding town it has been in decline for a number of years. The name derives from 'Green Nook' and refers to the verdant location which is still preserved in the town's many parks and gardens.
