The '''USS Fitzgerald''' is an American Naval ship which made headlines in June 2017 when it unaccountably collided with a civilian container ship. While none of the half dozen investigations into the collision is complete (as of 6/27/2017), it has been rumored that one or both ships were on [[autopilot]] without human supervision.
