::I don't know any significant evidence to link this stolen .40 caliber handgun with the shooting of Seth Rich. It would be nice if the cops would give us the ballistics report (was there a .40 caliber slug in Seth Rich?) ([[User:Thunkful2|Thunkful2]] ([[User talk:Thunkful2|talk]]) 19:32, 28 May 2017 (EDT))

:::'''Revolver was murder weapon?''' This Profiling Project report sponsored by Jack Burkman came out giving what IMHO are stupid illogical conclusions. The report concludes from an absence of shell casings (or from the lack of a report of shell casings found) at the crime scene, that the murder(s) sanitized the crime scene. And from that the argument is that it was a hired killer or a serial murderer. This is Alice in Wonderland reasoning. 1) I have never seen any DC cop report about the condition of the crime scene, whether or not shell casings were found. I don't know of any reliable source for that. 2) If no shell casings were found, that could be explained as a) casings went down a storm sewer, b) a revolver was used, c) a 2 barrel derringer was used (revolvers & derringers don't leave casings; casings stay in the gun. BTW, derringer seems quite unlikely due to not common & not regarded as very lethal. 3) Seth was shot at 4:19:43 per ShotSpotter. Cops were on scene by 4:20 per police report. There was little time to do any sanitizing. There is no cop report of having seen any shooters running away, nor any account of chasing them. So there was little time to sanitize. BTW, if it was a hit, it sure looks amateur to me, in that Seth was left alive & talking, w/ risk to shooters of him identifying them. So IMHO, the Profiling Project is a fiasco.
:::'''Semi-auto pistol was murder weapon?''' Reports indicate that a high majority of shootings are done by semi-auto pistols, not revolvers, tho a substantial minority is by revolvers. Generally a 9mm, .40 cal, or .45ACP bullet wud favor semi-automatic gun. A 38 Special or .357 magnum would favor revolver. Revolvers are very unlikely to jam. Semi-autos are famous for jamming. So if a semi-auto were used that could explain why no 3rd head shot to finish the job. If indeed there were no shell casings left, that favors revolver and then takes away the explanation of why no 3rd head shot.
