|Based upon the Broadway play by communist sympathizer Arthur Miller, this historical revisionist drama is an allegory intentionally written to compare the Christians of the past to the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) and comparing those accused of witchcraft to the communists HUAC hunted, ultimately spreading the idea that American communists of the Cold War era were helpless "victims" of HUAC.
