:::I've found a way to deal with the naming problem which is to use <nowiki>{{!}}</nowiki> to replace a pipe character so there aren't any problems with links. Might be good to mention it on the template documentation. I'll start going through and removing the brackets . ::::There is a problem with the radial velocity field appearing but not having any value on some pages, e.g. [[Cat's eye nebula]]. I think a space is needed on the template, so we have "<nowiki>{{!}} {{{radvelocity|}}}</nowiki>" instead of "<nowiki>{{!}}{{{radvelocity|}}}</nowiki>".
