Hey, I have a few questions... First, how does one become a sysop or "get promoted"?... I am also on the site that shall not be named, and becoming a sysop there was relatively easy.

Also, I want to add images to my articles, @1990's guy gave me a link to make a request, but it didn't work and also, I am wondering if there is an easier way? I think that Conservapedia suffers greatly from the lack of illustrations. Thanks --[[User:Kingdamian1|Kingdamian1]] ([[User talk:Kingdamian1|talk]]) 00:53, 27 April 2018 (EDT)

:Hello! Regarding your first question, there is no published criteria for promotion.  Rather, editors who have shown themselves reliable and well-meaning are occasionally promoted, as they are decided to have earned the privilege.  As overall membership grows and changes, these "Assistant Sysops" may be promoted to full administrators.  However, this is rare, and has not happened to anyone in the 2.5 years I have been here.  It is quite rare.

:As for image uploads, the standard was for you to do this is to post your requests on [[Conservapedia:Image upload requests|this page]] (provide the link to the wanted images).  If you stay with us for a while and prove yourself, you may eventually receive the privilege to do it yourself.  However, users do not start out with this ability, since some users may upload images which are either protected by license, or inappropriate.  Considering the amount of vandalism we see at times, this seems to be the reasonable option to me, although I know it can be annoying.  I spent a while requesting uploads before I was granted the ability to upload directly.

:In short, these "lower" promotions do often come to editors who prove themselves, but it takes time and effort.  Higher promotions (such as to the administrator level) are quite rare, even when there are candidates who could quality. At least most of us, if not all, are here to improve the CP, rather than to play the internal political system to earn promotion and status. Understand that to be promoted to full Administrator is rare, and very unlikely for someone who has recently joined.  At any level, promotions can be considered a privilege, but not a right.
