::Hey, for one, how do I determine if an image is free of copyright or not? Can I use Google Images? 2)How do I recommend it on that article? Do I simply copy paste a link to the image? Thanks --[[User:Kingdamian1|Kingdamian1]] ([[User talk:Kingdamian1|talk]]) 14:26, 28 April 2018 (EDT)

:::You need to look for images which are in the [[public domain]] or under a [[Creative Commons]] license.  Here are some places I like to look for good, usable images:
 +
:::*[https://www.flickr.com/search/?license=2%2C3%2C4%2C5%2C6%2C9 Flickr.com]
 +
:::*[https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page Wikimedia Commons]
 +
:::*[https://pixabay.com PixaBay]
 +
:::*[https://morguefile.com Morguefile.com]
 +
:::*[http://www.publicdomainpictures.net PublicDomainPictures.net]

:::If there are none available which fit these requirements, then we can only try to use them under "[[fair use]]."  If you use Google or some other such search engine, you must go to the actual website and find their licensing agreements, to ensure that they do not expressly prohibit retransmission and republishing. "Fair use" is a last resort, and we try to avoid using this claim as much as possible, since it is difficult to legally define.

:::You copy and paste the link to the file you want onto the [[CP:IUR]] page, and sign at the end of the request.  Typically, it is then reviewed and uploaded, and the uploader responds to the request with the file name on CP.  The requesting user then goes and adds the image(s) to the page(s) they intended.  You do not need to state what page the image is intended for in the upload request, though it doesn't hurt to do so, especially if we are going to be using it under "fair use." --[[User:DavidB4|<font color="ForestGreen">David B</font>]] ([[User talk:DavidB4|TALK]]) 17:13, 28 April 2018 (EDT)
