Civil service system (view source)
Revision as of 09:49, December 30, 2018
, 09:49, December 30, 2018→U.S. civil service
==U.S. civil service==
==U.S. civil service==
The [[Civil War]] was not just a war between North and [[The South]], it was a war between [[Democrat]] and [[Republican]]. Once the [[slave]]s were free, the [[Abolitionist]] movement came to an end.
While the Republican party was founded in 1854 as a single-issue movement - the abolition of slavery - by the 1863 [[Emancipation Proclamation]] it had only two things to fight for - full [[civil rights]] for [[Blacks]] and the spoils of victory, that is government jobs for party members to enforce the new laws.
