This article is inane! 25% of young Irish people attend weekly mass making it the second most religious country in Europe (after Poland). :25% is low in a country/continent where it once was considered taboo not to attend mass. The church attendance rate is significantly higher among the older generation and, in particular, outside Dublin and its commuter towns. Most of the recent secularisation is due to a backlash against the Catholic church due to various scandals. In time I am sure that it will die down.
