→Meaning of Islam
Just a side note--I've read that the word "Islam" literally means "submission" (to Allah). A quick search of online dictionaries made no mention of the literal meaning, though. If this is true, then the literal meaning of "Islamophobia" would actually be "fear of submission." I'm not sure if that would be a particularly productive change, and do not actually have a reference to back that up at the moment.
