The protagonist's arc is metaphorical of transgenderism, as by the end of the film he proudly becomes another species, which is disgusting and vile as it pushes the homosexual agenda further into the mainstream.  The overall plotline hints at endorsing environmental terrorism, which Cameron indicated that he himself supported.
