:So the passage clearly refers a man, any man, without the spirit of God. He may possess the spirit of Satan, but he himself will still be responsible for this event.

::Now this leads to a debate, Does the beastly flesh possess Satan, or does Satan possess the beastly flesh?.  In this case, it refers to a man who rejects God, lifts himself up in pride against God, and makes himself God, or the focus and reason for his existence.  Again, like Christ, it is a choice.  Each of us must choose to serve God or serve something else, usually self. Serving God is a choice. Rejecting God is a choice. Those who reject God to worship and serve themselves (the creature or beast) have the mark of the beast. It is not a future event.  It's regular and ongoing, and all 7.4 billion people on planet earth living right now must all make a choice individually.  RobSLive Free or Die 05:10, 22 April 2020 (EDT)

:There is no reference to a a "Great Beast" anywhere in the passage - that is something you are reading into the passage that is not there. This beast with the mark of the beast is very common.  (By passage I mean the whole chapter. There is no reference to a "Great Beast" anywhere in the chapter.) Go back to verse 18: Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man. Anyone who rejects God is a beast. Rejecting God is a choice. Accepting Christ is a choice. Accepting Christ makes you a son of God. Rejecting God makes you a beast. RobSLive Free or Die 05:33, 22 April 2020 (EDT)

:Now, don't get carried away with this fundamental doctrine, as Islam and even some Christians in times past did - considering those who refuse to accept Allah or refuse to submit to baptism are subhuman and worthy of being killed. That is not acceptable anywhere in God's word. Genesis 9:6: Whosoever sheds man's blood by man shall his blood be shed. This passage makes clear he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword, a doctrine that pre-dates even Mosaic law. While beasts might murder each other, it is not right for a son of God to kill a beast. RobSLive Free or Die 05:53, 22 April 2020 (EDT)
