Memorial services for Letlow were held on January 2, 2021, at the North Monroe Baptist Church, less than a day before he was to have been sworn into office. His mentor Ralph Abraham, whom Letlow was to have succeeded, said that Letlow had a deep love for his family, state and the 5th Congressional District. "He knew the heart and soul of the (5th Congressional District) and Louisiana.
