'''Andrew Torba''' (age {{age|1986|05|02}}<ref>https://wiki.projecttopics.org/68778-andrew-torba-net-worth-family-and-bio-everything-to-know-about-gab-founder/index.html</ref>) is an entrepreneur and businessman in northeastern Pennsylvania. As a sophomore in college founded the company Kuhcoon, a social media management service for businesses. However, he is better known today as the CEO of the social media website, [[Gab (website)|Gab]].
==Background==
Andrew was raised in a middle class family in Pennsylvania, as the oldest of five children. His father is Bob Torba, Jr, and his mother is Amy Torba.<br />
Andrew graduated from the University of Scranton in 2013, with a BA in Philosophy.<ref>https://news.gab.com/2020/11/28/who-is-gab-founder-andrew-torba/</ref>
==Gab==
Torba founded Gab AI in August 2016.<ref>https://news.yahoo.com/gab-founder-andrew-torba-193404160.html</ref> The platform then launched publicly in May 2017.<ref>https://www.b.wikiage.org/everything-on-gab-founder-bio-wife-and-family/</ref> As an outspoken conservative and christian, Torba has been the target of many political attacks since then. He strongly believes in the principles of freedom that the United States was founded on, and in particular, stands for the right to free speech. His refusal to censor people for their political and religious beliefs has drawn the ire of many tech companies, banks, and other liberal groups and individuals, both in and out of the political landscape. Hosting providers, DNS providers, banks, payment processors, mobile app stores, and more have all "deplatformed" Gab, in response to this firm "free speech" stance of Gab.
Nonetheless, Torba and his team have worked to eliminate as many external dependencies as possible, so that they can remain online.
