:Sorry for taking so long to respond. I think in part, he was trolling when he said those things. But he has also made the point that, since the '''American regime''' (note the distinction from the American nation) is tyrannical and suppresses virtuous dissidents, we should root for anything that wants to destroy it. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, essentially. Since the regime is Nick's enemy, Nick wants to support the enemies of the regime, inside and out. I don't agree with that line of reasoning, but it's not as black-and-white as you're presenting it.
