Based on this principle, the only scenarios we should be truly willing to go to war with either China or Russia over are: (1) a war between Japan and either China ''or'' Russia; or (2) a war between China ''and'' Russia. Should the former scenario occur, I would back Japan against whichever country it's fighting.
