:There's also the fact that certain aspects of the Rapture, particularly the bit about God basically causing the light sinners (can't really say sinless since there's literally only two people in existence who are truly sinless: the Virgin Mary, and his own son) to ascend to Heaven in an instant while the moderate to heavy sinners remain, that implicitly depicted God in a significantly more callous light (in fact, so callous he actually comes across as being about as bad as Satan, which is a terrible thought to imagine). Let's suppose, for example, that using that theory regarding God's chosen, that one of God's chosen was, say, an airline pilot, like one of the main protagonists from Left Behind for example. He turned out to be one of God's chosen, and God whisked him away while the plane was mid-flight (his co-pilot as well since he or she was also one of God's chosen), while the rest of the passengers weren't his chosen. Oh, and said plane is about to pass over a field, a volcano, or, worse, a nuclear power plant and the plane due to it being made unmanned ends up descending at a dangerous velocity and crashes, killing all on-board. That would essentially mean God's whisking away of his chosen ends up making him DIRECTLY responsible for a major disaster that befell the plane due to deciding to whisk them away, making him at best guilty of manslaughter and at worst a mass-murderer, even moreso since his omniscience had him know full well precisely what would result of that. That's one reason I simply cannot believe in the rapture, it makes God seem too much like a huge monster from that (and I've already got enough complex issues with God I need to sort out as it is).
