Now, is there any chance that this is a thinly veiled reference to the end times? Remember, the Antichrist beast system will be a worldwide united front persecuting the true church of God, aka spiritual Israel. Right now, there are godless groups in probably 666 or so different flavors, many of them at odds with one another. We know that those who stand against Christ ostensibly side with Satan, so does this mean that Satan's kingdom is currently divided and falling apart? Well, no, since he still deceives this whole world, which is consumed in sin.

I think this verse may have some relevance to the end times... ultimately, when the Antichrist power establishes de facto worldwide reign, the opposition towards the mark of the beast will be from true Christians. After all, if unbelievers, and really anyone ostensibly serving Satan (wittingly or unwittingly), also resist the mark of the beast, then Satan's kingdom is divided against itself! As I posted about here, I think that current efforts to syncretize extremist/fringe politics symbolizes a shadow of how the beast system will arise and function. —<code><span style="background:#FF8181">LT</span></code> (Mark 8:36) Wednesday, 23:58, January 3, 2023 (EST)
