US general predicts country will be at war with China in 2025
:Yah, I saw that. And it fits with the timetable of the USG's Ukraine war project.
:For MPR purposes, we need to develop narratives, not just toss out random articles. This begins by adding content to articles and keeping them current. Then the articles can be linked to from MPR. :::Gen. Mike Minihan, a four-star Air Force general who leads the Air Mobility Command (AMC): “My gut tells me we will fight in 2025." Stop the presses! A general's gut tells him the USA and China will be at war in 2025! What passes for journalism nowadays is very sad. Conservative (talk) 16:44, January 28, 2023 (EST)
::::It fits with other reporting, and the Gen. is privy to information and briefings the public and China is not. And he must choose his words carefully when speaking publicly to the press. The problem we have, is in and of itself its wasted space and rumor mongering on MSP without laying a foundation first in article pages that can be linked to.
::::This brings to light another problem we have: editors should not chase after articles for MPR, and even article content pages, simply for sensationalistic value. Editors need to be prepared to spend time in the future for follow up on those items, and not just one-time sensationalism. :Russian Military Intelligence responds to Gen. Minihan:
::Minihan’s prophecy is actually an official document, classified, but made public thanks to the discovery of the NBC newsroom. The memo sent to his subordinates indicates the peremptory order to send a report by the end of February on measures to prepare for hostilities with China.
::Minihan heads Air Mobility Command, one of the most important operational arms of the US military system. What does the AMC do? Air Mobility Command has nearly 50,000 service members and nearly 500 planes and is responsible for transport and refueling. Air Mobility provides the capability to deploy U.S. armed forces anywhere in the world within hours and help sustain them in a conflict. ...
::Minihan’s words, therefore, must be taken seriously. In the leaked memo Minihan not only predicts a war with China in 2025 but ordered his subordinates to prepare a report by the end of February on measures to prepare for hostilities with China. Indeed, the signed memo is addressed to all air wing commanders in Air Mobility Command and other Air Force operational commanders, and orders them to report all major efforts to prepare the next war...." China is a mercantilist country experiencing a lot of financial and social problems. They are not going to risk offending their best customers that give them the best margins and highest sales volumes - namely the West. The Chinese Communist Party members are a bunch of saber-rattling blowhards when it comes to threatening to attack Taiwan. The only reason that would ever happen in the foreseeable future is if Taiwan declared its independence.Conservative (talk) 07:28, January 29, 2023 (EST)
:What about Minihan and the US' saber rattling? You think Chinese intelligence is just going, 'La-di-da' when they read reports like this in Western MSM? RobSGive Peace a chance 09:00, January 29, 2023 (EST)
::The Chinese leaders biggest concern is avoiding having the people rebel/revolt against their rule - which just recently happened when people cried out "Down with Xi" due to the lockdowns. Xi had to backdown and end the lockdowns. But perhaps, the CCP had social pressure to protect its elderly and didn't want to take the blame. Perhaps people complaining about the lockdowns gave the CCP an excuse to end the lockdowns. If the economy sours, the CCP breaks the unspoken contract that the people let the government do their thing and the government helps make them rich.
::Revolutions happen due to the people's expectations not being met. And after so much prosperity, many Chinese would be angry if the Chinese government caused the West to declare sanctions against China and boycott Chinese goods/services. Again, China is a mercantilist country whose biggest and most profitable customer is the West.
::Even if China was able to keep knowledge of USA sanctions from the people that were caused by China attacking Taiwan, the effects of sanctions would bite hard due to the fact that China is a mercantilist country that sells a ton to the West. With China's intentions concerning Taiwan more evident than ever, we must now hope that it strikes after the 2024 election. If it strikes before the election, then war is inevitable. Meanwhile, in hopes that we still have a chance of avoiding war, we need to ensure that the GOP nominee is NOT Ron DeSantis. DeSantis is affiliated with the neocon wing of the party, and if he wins the nomination then the general election will be decided between two hawks seeking to out-warmonger each other. Unless we can find a third candidate who doesn't have a habit of repeatedly dropping the ball on foreign policy, Donald Trump is our only hope. And we must do what we can to drown out the voices of people like Lindsey Graham, who clearly wants to nudge Trump in a more interventionist direction like John Bolton and Mike Pompeo did before him.--Geopolitician (talk) 16:47, January 29, 2023 (EST)

:::So when a "revolution of dignity" finally occurs in Taipai, and the new freedom-loving regime invites in the PLA to help defend itself against US aggression, Chinese full sovereignty will be regained over the island which the United States has recognized as PRC territory since 1970. All the globalist losers can either try to negotiate through their governments to protect their chip factory and waste disposal site investments, and failing that can file insurance claims for their losses. My guess is the CCP will try to work something out with globalist investors, probably not to the investors complete satisfaction. RobSGive Peace a chance 19:14, January 29, 2023 (EST)
:::::Great point on Taiwan and microchips. The only reason we rely on Taiwan so much for microchips is because of outsourcing by globalist corporations. Which means if we go to war to protect the chip factories over there, we'd essentially be sending a message that globalist corporations have the ability and the right to manufacture false national interests and pass them off as genuine. Absolutely sickening.--Geopolitician (talk) 13:17, January 30, 2023 (EST)
::::::And, not spoken of much today, is the fact that Taiwan has been used as a waste dump for 12 volt automobile batteries and the lead contained in them cause of environmental regulation in the US and Europe. The lead gets into the groundwater. Taiwan has probably been turning around and dumping used batteries in the ocean, in violation of international environmental regulations, after being paid to take possession of them. RobSGive Peace a chance 19:00, January 30, 2023 (EST)
::::Throughout the Cold War, conservatives touted Taiwan as an ally against Communism. But the Cold War is long over, so we must assess who our allies are from a somewhat different standpoint. In 2023, Taiwan serves no purpose other than to bring the world closer to World War III on behalf of the Deep State. Therefore, we must stop supporting Taiwan. And we must demand that Washington stand down from its decades-old policy of protecting it.
::::If we cut Taiwan loose and not pursue any more entangling alliances, war with China will be delayed by at least 15 years. Now, whether we go to war with China at a later date will be entirely up to China. For the current regime in Beijing plans to go to war with Japan sometime between 2040 and 2045. And unlike Taiwan, Japan is worth going to war for. Japan shares a maritime border with the US, through Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands. If Japan falls, the puppet regime of another superpower will be right on our border. And that would be a true national security threat.--Geopolitician (talk) 12:54, January 30, 2023 (EST)

::What you have not realized is, your neutral stance on the Russia-Ukraine war is viewed as moral cowardice by both sides. And that view will persist beyond the war. So until such a time as you decide to speak up for one side or the other, you should do as most other conservatives are doing right now, and refrain from speaking on the conflict, or any other conflict the Biden junta is funding. RobSGive Peace a chance 21:33, January 30, 2023 (EST)
When Chiang Kai-shek fled from the Mainland to Taiwan, he did so with the understanding that his government would be a continuation of the Republic of China. He did not, nor did he ever, intend for Taiwan to be a separate nation from China. As a nationalist, his goal was to reunite China under one government. And he undoubtedly would've considered the separatists who today are increasingly dominating Taiwanese politics as not just traitors, but as a greater enemy than the CCP itself.
It is precisely for this reason that the Kuomintang is becoming increasingly pro-CCP. They would rather live under communist rule than see their government hijacked by foreign agents and used as a tool to balkanize China into smaller states. So if China invades we should expect a lot of draft-dodging and/or defecting on the Taiwanese side. Perhaps even a coup (attempt) by pro-Kuomintang officers.--Geopolitician (talk) 17:40, January 30, 2023 (EST)
:Yes, precisely. (The contemporary generation of the Kuomintang has probably been actively infiltrated by the CCP for many decades, since everyone recognizes the various 'liberal' and 'democratic' parties as CIA puppets). It's amazing to think today, that tiny little Taiwan had a seat on the UN Security Council from 1945 to 1970, until Richard Nixon ended it. And it's a testament to the lack of foresight and understanding of the world of the Washington D.C. foreign policy establishment, which has only gotten worse and worse in the successive decades. :Exactly. It was a replay of the dispute between Marshal Petain and Charles De Gaulle, the French National Committee and the Vichy regime. This is likely how the Ukraine war will end; Zelensky's a young man, and should he survive after being driven out of Kyiv, will establish a non-sovereign, U.S. taxpayer-supported 'government-in-exile' in Warsaw, Miami, Italy or somewhere. :The business about shooting it down in Breitbart is somewhat ridiculous, cause obviously any information collected would be transmitted by radiowave (likely via satellite relay). If any of this is true, and it indeed is Chinese or some other foreign power, that may be exactly what it is - a test of America's domestic electronic warfare system's ability to intercept and interfere with enemy radio signals and guided missiles. It is widely recognized that Russia has the most superior defensive electronic warfare systems in the world to counteract American offensive air superiority. And again, it's also known a Chinese military movement against Taiwan would begin with an EMP attack over the United States (wiping out the power grid, and leaving about 150 million Americans dead in 90 days from starvation without electricity, frozen foods, microwaves, electric stoves, or electric powered gas pumps to drive to work if any workplaces still existed without electricity).
:And again, being that arms control, arms proliferation, and arms reduction treaties (START) have all been tossed out the window, it's possibly also a reminder to the idiots running our government that, unlike after the Cuban Missile Crisis, there is no "hot line" between Washington and Beijing to ward off a crisis or misunderstanding. But of course, don't rely on the Biden junta or MSM to explain any of that to you. Remember, the US is always the "good guy".

One thing that I like about Midwestern America is that it is very practical and down to earth. Milton Friedman and John Mearsheimer have both spent time in Midwestern America.
I don't have a bird's eye view enough to know what the primary motives and causes of this war (Cause trouble for Russia in its backyard; a vain attempt to achieve liberal hegenmony; cause a rift between Germany and Russia for economic reasons, bloody Russia's nose enough so it doesn't expand beyond Ukraine, etc. etc.). I do know the cleft countries are often powerkegs.

It's a shame that the USA has managed its finances so poorly in terms of its national debt and Social Security/Medicare. And that it did not manage its industrial capacity as well as it could have. That is going to affect its abilities in terms of its military capacity and international relations.
On a more positive note, the future of Chinese Communist Party does not look bright (See: Skepticism about China remaining a global power). Conservative (talk) 13:41, February 3, 2023 (EST)

::I am for the existence of nations and for federalism (Federalism is a system of government in which the same territory is controlled by two levels of government. Generally, an overarching national government is responsible for broader governance of larger territorial areas, while the smaller subdivisions, states, and cities govern the issues of local concern.).
::But I don't completely understand the economics of global trade as it is a complex subject. At first glance, it appears as if one category of winners of global trade are poor people outside of the developed countries and many people in those countries (The managers and owners of companies that are not in developed countries). Also, multinational corporations and their stockholders are winners. In addition, consumers who bought things cheaper at Walmart, etc. I also assume that when I buy coffee or banannas they are often grown in areas in hot climates so people who buy those products are winners. The losers are people who worked for manufacturing companies in developed countries whose jobs were sent overseas. Furthermore, companies are offshoring various jobs like customer service, accounting, etc.
::It does seem as if part of the problem is that the USA educational system is poor - particularly at the pre-college level. In addition to the educational system being poor in terms of skill acquisition, it also focuses on making people "good employees" and not enough on being entrepreneurs. Furthermore, it offers no financial education.
::With China experiencing a growing shortage of workers and rising wages of workers as a result, it does appear as some of those jobs will return to the USA. Plus, China's lockdowns and growing friction with the USA is causing supply chains to return the USA.
::Some rustbelt areas are turning things around. And Trump got corporate tax rates reduced which caused USA capital to return to the USA.
::I personally have benefited from overseas trade in the past and soon I will resume to benefit from foreign trade, but perhaps I was hurt by global trade too as I have never been a manufacturing worker (Many of the jobs went overseas). I will not go into the details, but I may help some rustbelt areas to rejuvenate. Conservative (talk) 20:18, February 3, 2023 (EST)

::::Okay, so you corrected the error. You're talking about the differences between a manufacturing and service economy, I guess. Keynesian New Deal macroeconomists, in the days when America was a manufacturing economy, discovered that each manufacturing job created 2.5 service sector jobs (the so-called "multiplier effect"). In 2016, as globalism took hold of America, MAGAnomics pointed out that offshoring 50,000 manufacturing jobs wiped out 125,000 service sector jobs, like waiters, barbers, musicians, lawyers, taxicab drivers, etc. Globalism was wiping out whole cities (the multiplier effect in reverse).
::::The Russian economy for instance, remains a heavily self-sufficient manufacturing economy. They don't need imported refrigerators, cars, and TV sets. Now Westerners can laugh that Russia is "behind the times" with outdated and obsolete machine technology. But sanctions have not only created demand for more domestically produced consumer goods, its rising defense spending insures continued employment for workers now in munition factories, who otherwise would be facing layoffs in a limited consumer market where they can't export their excess production of consumer goods.RobSGive Peace a chance 21:49, February 3, 2023 (EST)
::Adam Smith:
:::"In that rude state of society in which there is no division of labour (i.e. "specialized skills"), in which exchanges are seldom made (i.e. commerce is rare), and in which every man provides everything for himself, it is not necessary that any stock (Ed: more later on the meaning of this term) should be accumulated or stored up beforehand in order to carry on the business of the society. Every man endeavours to supply by his own industry his own occasional wants as they occur. When he is hungry, he goes to the forest to hunt; when his coat is worn out, he clothes himself with the skin of the first large animal he kills: and when his hut begins to go to ruin, he repairs it, as well as he can, with the trees and the turf that are nearest it.
:::"But when the division of labour has once been thoroughly introduced, the produce of a man's own labour can supply but a very small part of his occasional wants. The far greater part of them are supplied by the produce of other men's labour, which he purchases with the produce, or, what is the same thing, with the price of the produce of his own. But this purchase cannot be made till such time as the produce of his own labour has not only been completed, but sold. A stock of goods of different kinds, therefore, must be stored up somewhere ("a stock of goods must be stored up somewhere", i.e. capital must be accumulated somewhere first) sufficient to maintain him, and to supply him with the materials and tools of his work till such time, at least, as both these events can be brought about.
::This is your starting point to understanding international trade. RobSGive Peace a chance 21:20, February 3, 2023 (EST)
:::I revised one of my sentences above. I meant to write: "The losers are people who worked for manufacturing companies in developed countries whose jobs were sent overseas."
:::Also, I have taken some economics courses and finance courses at a university level with some excellent professors so I understand some of the basic economics/financial concepts (Specialization, etc.).
:::I am endeavoring to future proof my livelihood against globalization and artificial intelligence by developing my skills that overseas workers and artificial intelligence cannot do. I have also been asked to be a partner in a business process outsourcing company.
:::At the end of the day, there is always work to do. I recall hearing about a man who let potential employers try out his labor for free for a period of time during the Great Depression (In other words, the "free sample" risk reversal sales/marketing concept.). As a result, he always had work.
:::As far as free trade, the only thing I am sure of is that nations that engage in unfair trade practices via government subsidies and/or intellectual property theft, can be punished via tarrifs. And I am not sure if globalism can be wholly blamed for wiping out whole cities. Maybe it was the fault of those states/cities having high taxes/regulations and poor schools. And maybe some of those cities were not business friendly in terms of the hoops they make you jump through to set up new busineses or the people had too much of a societal employee mindset and not enough of an entreprenuerial mindset. And then there is anti-union states and business friendly states where Japanese car manufacturing companies are setting up plants. Like I said, it seems to be a difficult question to answer. I suspect that education, work ethic and the business friendliness of states plays a part. And so does how diversified an areas economy is. For example, if you are an car worker who went to a subpar public school in Detroit in a state/city run by Democrats in the 1970s, your chance of bouncing back is going to be a harder task. The Detroit public schools likely stunk. The business friendliness in terms of taxes, regulations and labor laws of Michigan/Detroit is not as good as Texas or some other southern states as far as companies wanting to operate there. And Detroit had a lot of specialization in car manufacturing and wasn't as economically diversified as some areas of the USA. A society that fosters entrepeneurship is going to have new types of businesses start up and be more economically diversified in terms of the types of businesses. ::According to Investopedia: "What Are the Rust Belt States? Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Wisconsin are considered to be the Rust Belt states. ::Most of these rustbelt states are controlled by Democrats and probably have public policies that are not business friendly in terms of taxes, regulations and labor laws.
::Ohio had the moderate Republican governor John Kasick, but it is becoming more red and Trumpier. "Indiana has long been considered to be a Republican stronghold and is rated R+11 on the Cook Partisan Voting Index. The current governor of Indiana is Republican Eric Holcomb, and Republicans hold supermajorities in both chambers of the Indiana General Assembly. It has only supported a Democrat for president five times since 1900—in 1912, 1932, 1936, 1964 and 2008. Nonetheless, half of Indiana's governors in the 20th century were Democrats. Indiana has also elected several Democrats to the Senate. Certain cities, too, tend to favor Democrats; Gary, Indiana has had a Democratic mayor for the last 77 years."

:::Indiana originally started off as a GOP stronghold when Whigs, Know Nothings, and Free Soil Democrats coalesced into the Republican Party; however, due to Southern influence and racism/xenophobia, both parties within the state had terrible associations with bigotry; during the Wilsonian era, the state seems to have been dominated by Democrats, while the GOP regained control during the 1920s, when the Second Ku Klux Klan was at its peak in the state. The 1920s-era Klan, a relic of the Progressive Movement and an social authoritarian hegemony inspired by the liberal Social Gospel, probably found significant working-class populist backing which permeated into both parties. While the Indiana Klan had strong sympathies with the progressive wing of the GOP (the Klan hated pro-business and pro-immigration "standpat" or "old guard" conservatives), it's noteworthy that its foremost leader D. C. Stephenson started his career as a diehard Democratic loyalist. Later in the New Deal era, Democrats regained control. (One Democratic senator, Frederick Van Nuys, was a notably lukewarm towards the New Deal agenda towards the late 1930s, and was also known for sponsoring anti-lynching legislation which was filibustered in the U.S. Senate by Southern Democrats including Theodore Bilbo. There's a common misconception that his infamous filibuster "floodgates" speech, Bilbo filibustered the Costigan–Wagner Act when he in fact it was the debate for the Wagner–Van Nuys Act.) —<code><span style="background:#FF8181">LT</span></code> (Matthew 26:52) Saturday, 15:44, February 4, 2023 (EST)
"neoliberal fire sale"
It would be incorrect to attribute the Zelensky Regime and the NATO–Russia War as an outgrowth of neoliberalism, which emphasizes limited government, free-market capitalism, and free trade. Western imperialists instigated the war to flourish a crony Nazi government, and disrupted free trade by implementing sanctions which hurt economies throughout the world. Ukrainian fascism is an outgrowth of illiberal left-wing nationalism, not classical liberalism.
Blaming the war in Ukraine on neoliberalism is merely a cloaked canard for antisemitic propaganda infamously spouted by Marxists and Nazis. ::Let's review the Uranium One sale momentarily. There were Americans who took cash, in U.S. dollars, from Russians to sell off Uranium One. The Russians first had to sell their Rubles at whatever the exchange rate was, which is easily manipulated by the U.S. government, in order to complete the transaction. They took a risk, first in buying U.S. dollars, then acted in good faith in buying title deeds for land in the US with uranium mines on it.
::But the people who took their cash all knew they could deny Russia, not only the profits from the mines, but the ability to reclaim their investment at "fair market value" by simply imposing sanctions to coerce the Russian government to behave in such a way as acceptable to the American government. ===Why did Biden announce the attack on Nordstream in advance?===
Surely the most mystifying aspect of the sabotage of Nordstream 2 back in September is that Joe Biden disclosed this otherwise intensely covert operation months in advance. “If Russia invades — that means tanks or troops crossing the border of Ukraine, again — then there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2,” he said on Feb. 7, 2022. “We will bring an end to it.” This wasn't Biden getting ahead of his skis either. Undersecretary of State Nuland had said much the same thing twenty days earlier. Once Biden disclosed it, the operation was no longer covert, so they didn't have to run it past the Gang of Eight congressional leaders, according Seymour Hersh's latest expose. Hersh's exposes haven't always panned out. His last one was about how Bin Laden was a prisoner of the Pakistani government. The Russians are fully aware of US capabilities and the risk they took in making the agreement with Germans and building the pipeline. If anything, Biden, Nuland, Sullivan, et al took the Russian bait when the US made good on its threats cause the Russians knew it would backfire, and now play into Russia's overall strategy and objective to destroy the NATO alliance. ::As to bin Laden, see Abbottabad raid (written before Hersh's piece}. Yes, indeed bin Laden was under house arrest. He could not be tried by the Pakistanis, and could not be turned over to the American government by Pakistan for trial because of public reaction in Pakistan and the Muslim world. So he was held under house arrest, which prevented him from becoming a martyr, and fit with CIA propaganda that he was a coward hiding out sending others to die. It was Obama that turned him into a martyr, aiding jihadi recruiting, and satisfying Bush critics blood lust. Benazir Bhutto, who held him under house arrest at the behest of Americans, even tried to spread fake news that he died of a kidney ailment or something to throw investigators off the trail. It was Obama who violated the agreement the Bush regime had with the Pakistanis and did it for selfish and American domestic political purposes. All this info was in open source before Hersh set it in narrative order.
::The Bush administration made it clear from day one, that the so-called "War on Terror" was not a war of retribution, rather they called it a "preventative war". ===Defund Ukraine===
A #DefundUkraine or Ukraine Fatigue resolution may be too little too late. It's time for examination of the mechanics of how Ukraine aid funding operates.
When Congress appropriated $116 billion in aid in calendar year 2022, the money is not paid out to Ukraine at once (keep in mind, much was appropriated to 3rd parties like defense contractors and the State Department, as well). The "Ukraine aid" that is paid out directly to Ukraine is given to Biden, who then doles it out at his discretion in these so-called "arms packages", which typically have $400 million to 2.5 billion (also, keep in mind there is a regular amount of about $6 billion paid for government salaries and operating expenses for the puppet regime, which includes social security pensions to Ukrainian citizens, etc.). So of the $116 billion appropriated so far, it is held in a reserve fund paid out at the president's discretion. Biden has enough cash in reserve, that even if the House could cut off aid 100% by cutting it out of the debt ceiling debate, Biden has enough cash to keep the war going. The amount of Ukraine aid for the rest of 2023 will be determined in the debt ceiling agreement for however long this debt ceiling is extended. But the $116 billion appropriated already gives Biden enough of a reserve fund to keep doling out arms packages until the November 2024 elections. IOWs, terminating Ukraine aid will not terminate Biden's ability to keep the war going for another 2 years.
The big problem we face is escalation. So it makes little difference to focus only on funding, cause it won't stop US provocations and escalations. And no one can predict how the Russians will respond to these continued escalations. RobSGive Peace a chance 04:27, February 10, 2023 (EST)
Put simply, we need much more drastic action than just cutting off aid (of which we got 11 of 218 votes necessary to get a 50% compromise with the Senate on future funding). We need a Peace Movement. And that's where our focus needs to be. On the insanity of war. RobSGive Peace a chance 04:38, February 10, 2023 (EST)

:::"What makes Wagenknecht such a fascinating figure is that she now receives as much support from what liberal Western outlets like to call "the German far right" as she does from the German left. There are many reasons for that, beginning with the fact that she has become one of the most vocal opponents of German escalation in the war with Ukraine, arguing – citing ample historical evidence – that few things are more dangerous for the world than when Germany and Russia pursue militaristic antagonism with each other.
:::Wagenknecht's principles and firm opposition to German involvement in the war in Ukraine comes as both the center-right and center-left establishments support it, and while the left-wing Green Party – that ran on a vow of "anti-interventionism" and "a feminist foreign policy" that would prioritize diplomacy over confrontation – has become the most fanatical and militant voice in favor of greater military confrontation with Russia over Ukraine. Opposition is confined, as it is in the U.S., to the populist left and populist right.
:::During the COVID pandemic, Wagenknecht was a vocal opponent of vaccine mandates and passports, further endearing her to voters who have traditionally voted for what The Guardian calls "far-right Alternative für Deutschland (Afd)." She opposes mass immigration on what was the long-standing left-wing ground that it drives down wages for German workers while benefiting only neoliberal institutions of capital (while she is German-born, her family is of Iranian descent, but this does not stop the white German left from branding her a "racist" for her views on immigration). And she is particularly scathing in her critique of how the German left has become a party almost entirely dominated by highly-educated, wealthy cosmopolitan elites while losing touch with the German working class due to its pursuit of new cultural changes (such as gender ideology) that offend and alienate more middle-class and working-class German workers and abandonment of the traditional pro-worker economic platform that was the backbone on the German left for decades."
:::As a result, she is achieving something virtually unimaginable by any other Western populist leftist leader: she is uniting left and right-wing Germans behind her. As the Guardian explains: "But now the woman revered as something of a heroine of the German left by some is receiving overtures from the far-right Alternative für Deutschland, with party influencers urging her to effectively join forces with them. In its latest issue her upturned face appears next to the cover line: “The best chancellor – a candidate for the left and the right.” Among AfD voters the interest was a staggering 68%, a percentage point above the proportion of Die Linke supporters who would back her. Among conservative voters of the Christian Democratic Union/Christian Social Union alliance, a quarter said she was an option for them. The lowest support of 7% was among Green voters. ===Propaganda prose===
Hard times can bring out the best in people. Take a look at this wonderment of prose:
:But the newly approved Information Ministry directive spiraling down the Western echo-chamber sewage lines attempts to soften the blow with a Disney-esque re-imagining of the narrative. The analgesic to tide over the rabid horde of copium-huffers quivering in their unheated basements is now as follows: Ukraine will conduct a sweeping Spring-time offensive once the newly-annointed NATO wunderwaffen completes its lumbering steam-locomotive journey over Ukraine’s de-electrified railways. In essence, they’re saying: “Turn your eyes away, sweet child. The coming massacre won’t be a pretty sight…but worry not, in Spring time it’ll all get better. We promise! Have we lied before?”
::RobS<sup>Give Peace a chance</sup> 04:36, February 13, 2023 (EST)
:*Simplicius reports: "a quite humorous Bakhmut anecdote hit the wires today by way of reputable war correspondent Alexander Kots. Wagner in Artemovsk told a fiery story:
::The other day, a fighter came to our positions to have a cigarette. He was no different from the Wagnerites, he treated himself, lit a cigarette ... And then the enemy rolled over. Everyone rushed to repel the attack, and the guest also grabbed the machine gun, pointing it at the “enemies”. Managed to destroy seven attackers.
::After the fever of the battle, they sat down to fill the magazines with cartridges, and then our hero suddenly realized that he had entered the wrong trench. And he repulsed the attack not of the "orcs-Muscovites", but of his brothers. The fighter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was praised and even promised to be presented for an award for such performance. And sent to the rest of the prisoners.
:"In case the auto-translation fails for some—in short: the Ukrainian soldier accidentally entered the Wagner trench and when they were attacked by AFU, helped Wagner repel the attackers, killing seven of his own, only to later realize what he had done.
:"Wild as it may sound, this is at least the half-dozenth time I’ve heard a similar tale so far in this war. One of the stories was even caught on video here.
:"It seems in very close quarter fighting, against a ‘brotherly adversary’ who looks and speaks just like you—and especially in the dusky evening hours, or even in the middle of the night—it’s quite common for soldiers to accidentally enter the ‘wrong trench’ and go completely unnoticed. The 'Penicillin' system is not a radar, it is a gigantic microphone that can pinpoint the location of a NATO/Ukrainian artillery piece, from a mortar up to a HIMAR. Being this counter-battery artillery system does not send out radar signals, it can't be found. *American mercenary tells his story on RT. This is a good object lesson in both war propaganda and Russian propaganda. The guy claims he flew to Moldova, then Istanbul, then Moscow to defect from the Ukrainian Nazi Foreign Legion. More likely, he was captured on the battlefield as a foreign mercenary and faces either a death sentence or 30-50 years in the Russian gulag. So he's cooperating with the Russian propaganda apparatus looking for amnesty or redemption. His story has holes in it, and he's not very bright. But it is worth studying for serious students of war propaganda. RobSGive Peace a chance 13:20, February 28, 2023 (EST)
:*His story is worth going over point by point. He evidently provided names and incidents to Russian Nazi War Crimes investigators which are credible. His claim of being a "communist" falls flat and is just a vulgar stereotype held by many Americans about all Russians. He's been briefed on what to say in some segments, verbatim, with Russian talking points, such as Donbas being taken over by Shell Oil and Chevron and American corporate agricultural conglomerates (while obviously true) is way above his limited knowledge or intelligence. The parts about human shields there is no reason to doubt; slicing up genitals is unconvincing about him ever witnessing it. He's obviously a very loyal American, he carried his discharge papers with him everywhere. IMO, he had no idea what he was getting into with Ukrainian nazis until he got there (IOWs, he is/was a victim of American and Western propaganda). The fact that he provided real names of the Ukrainians and mercenaries were credible is what has spared him.
:*About two weeks ago a video appeared of a Ukrainian shooting several unarmed captured Russians in the head, which the UN Human Rights Commission deemed credible evidence of a war crime; the Russians identified the name of the perp, published it, and offered a bounty. The perp reappeared on the internet claiming the victims were captured mercenaries (the Wagner Group) and under the rules of war and martial law, his actions were legal. Technically, he's probably correct. The idiot in the RT video posted here knows the Russians could have done the same thing to him on the spot, but spared him.
::*Which leads us to one more clarification: the Wagner Group is known for making it clear to recruits that they will execute anyone who attempts to desert. That may sound cruel, but the logic is simple: a mercenary deserter can be executed on the spot if captured by any belligerent under international law. Now, if a captured mercenary is willing to cooperate with law enforcement by providing names to prosecute other war criminals, he could be spared. Hence Wagner Group executes them before they desert. By contrast, the AFU executes its own soldiers who enjoy the protections of the Geneva Convention. (Generally speaking, confusion arises when mercenaries are referred to as POWs, cause they are not POWs if captured). RobSGive Peace a chance 13:57, February 28, 2023 (EST)
::*One further note: Doug Macgregor reports that there are 20,000 NATO-trained Polish mercenaries in Ukraine, serving in Ukrainian uniform. God help them, and we will be hearing many more stories like the two stories related here. So it will be helpful to have some understanding of international law and rules of war, before any idiot wishes to make themself a victim of war propaganda. RobSGive Peace a chance 14:13, February 28, 2023 (EST)
:*In one sense, this RT video is not a complete propaganda fail; while Ukraine soldiers who see this probably won't buy the idea that he joined up with the intent to spy on them and eventually defect to Russia (the clip of him under shelling on the front lines blows his whole cover story), Ukrainians fighting with foreign mercenaries will look at them cross-eyed henceforward, and probably shoot them themselves (like the Wagner Group does) before allowing them to get captured. In that sense, it works as a deterrent against other fools signing up as mercenaries. RobSGive Peace a chance 17:07, February 28, 2023 (EST)

There are two takeaways that are important to understand about a major war:
#It is very difficult to pass along treaty obligations from one generation to the next. The Revolutions of 1848 were spawned when the peace of the Congress of Vienna in 1815 began to breakdown; World War I started in 1914 when the Congress of Berlin of 1878 broke down; elements of the UN Charter are all but forgotten today, and the ABM, INF, and START treaties have been torn up.
#In a major war, professional soldiers, or the "best and the brightest" are the first to get killed, leaving only idiots with an IQ of 98 like the American in the RT video above to fight the war (if a nation decides to continue the fight) and to make peace, passing along their treaty obligations to the next generation. ::::The United States, since the development of the atomic bomb, has never built a military designed to fight a sustained conventional conflict with another nuclear power. It can't, cause of the cost of shipping tons and tons of armour, artillery, and ammunition (and keeping supplied) via ship or air to compete with German or Russian conventional arms producers. It has always relied on nukes. Likewise, the Russians have never been able to compete with the various "wunderwaffen" America produces (in limited quantities), designed to escalate conflict. :In the 2 or 3 or 5 years it will take to deliver any of this stuff being promised, beginning with tanks, artillery, shells, missile systems, missile defense, or fighter aircraft, the US civilian and military satellite system will be wiped out first. That's the first (or next) thing that has be looked at. Some of these satelite systems are duel use, like Musk's Starlink. The problem is, if or when the US GPS satellite system gets wiped out, airlines go bankrupt and the commercial shipping supply chain gets stalled or disrupted. (in otherwords, there will be a huge global economic disruption). And the satellites can't be replaced until the war is over.
:At some point, the Russians will get sick of Americans killing Russians with satellite surveillance, and will have to take them out. I'm surprised they didn't after the sinking of the Moskva last spring, they must've wanted a long war then. But all this will happen before any F-16 ever fly's over Ukraine. Those F-16s being built now are replacements for Polish, Czech and Romanian Su-25s. Only Europe may be de-NATOized before they ever can take possession of them. ===Russia war crimes in Ukraine vs. Ukrainian war crimes. The Russian War crimes appear to be on a much larger scale.===

The Russians have been targeting civilians in the Russia-Ukraine War and a significant portion of Ukraine has been wrecked. And there are credible reports of Russians often engaging in the torturing and the raping of Ukrainian civilians. All in all, the Russians have been very brutal in the Russian-Ukraine War. See: Ukraine: One Year of Russian Crimes and How investigators are tracking Russian war crimes in Ukraine and War crimes in Ukraine
The extent of Russian atrocities will probably be more fully uncovered by future historians and journalists.
And there are credible reports of the Ukrainians engaging in war crimes as well, but the Russian magnitude of war atrocities is on a much bigger scale.

One year anniversary
Let's review. Beginning on February 28, 2022 until March 16, 2022, we laid out 7 scenarios starting at Talk:Main_Page/Archive_index/206#Scenario_1. (Scenario 4 was contributed by Geoplitician).
Scenario 1
At the start, the Russians said the advance would continue to March 2, at which point they would reassess. This pause likely will coincide with the negotiations on the Belarus border. This map which shows two Russian columns about to meet up, cutting off and leaving AUF forces and civilian terrorists armed by the Kyiv regime trapped inside. Fighting is ongoing inside the city of Kharkiv. The mayor of Kyiv says encirclement is complete, however this is unconfirmed.
If the negotiators, likely a battlefield commander from the Russian side and who knows from Kyiv regime (possibly a high-ranking political person and not even a military commander), a temporary ceasefire could occur countrywide, with AFU forces and civilian terrorists allowed to withdraw PROVIDED they surrender their weapons by a certain deadline within days. The Kyiv regime must order their withdrawal. After that, any AUF resisters or civilian terrorists and paramilitary trapped inside the Eastern encirclement will be arrested and tried.
Scenario 2
It's unlikely any countrywide political or military settlement will be discussed until conditions in Scenario 1 are met. NATO smuggling more weapons into the country after the Kyiv regime agrees to disarming and withdrawing AFU forces in Eastern Ukraine creates a larger problem. So unless Kyiv is prepared to comply with the Russian demands in Scenario 1, they may as well not show up. They know that, and so does everyone else.
Scenario 3
NATO provokes an attack on a NATO member by weapons smuggling. This could occur through multiple avenues, for example cargo ships in the Black Sea.
Scenario 4
Thanks to the influx of al-Qaeda-linked jihadists from Syria (and perhaps to a lesser extent the migrants Lukashenko imported into Belarus) an ISIS-like entity forms within Ukraine. This ISIS-like entity conducts attacks on the NATO countries bordering Ukraine (Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia), giving NATO a casus belli to intervene in Ukraine.--User:Geopolitician|Geopolitician (User talk:Geopolitician|talk) 20:21, March 5, 2022 (EST)
Scenario 5
*U.S. begins propaganda campaign alleging that Russia is plotting a chemical weapons attack;
*Lindsey Graham declares he would support a no-fly zone if the Russians stage a chemical weapons attack;
*U.S. and allies along with the Kyiv regime stage a false flag chemical weapons attack;
*Biden imposes a unilateral no-fly zone under the guise of NATO (the US is the only NATO power with the ability to impose and enforce a no-fly zone};
*With Lindsey Graham's consent, Biden complies with the U.S. constitutional mandate to act with the "advise and consent" of Congress;
*World War III commences.
This apparently is Plan B, being that the effort to get Poland to begin World War III by flying MIGs into Ukraine failed.
Scenario 6
The CCP lends military assistance (as the CIA alleges) to the Russian Federation by implementing its plan for PLA Total Information Warfare, exploding an EMP over the continental United States as a pretext to its invasion of Taiwan, and in the process kills 150 million Americans.
Scenario 7
Plan C: NATO widens the war outside Ukraine by attacking Belarus, looking for retaliatory strike from Belarus to invoke Article 5, having failed with Plan A (Polish MIGs) & Plan B (No-fly zone).
Comments? Today we apparently have reached Scenario 7 with the NATO attack on a Russian AWACs plane at the Minsk airport in Belarus. NATO apparently is attempting to blind the Russians on NATO movements in Poland. RobSGive Peace a chance 19:28, February 26, 2023 (EST)
:Virtually every item foreseen here has borne out.
:Scenario 1: Ukrainian Nazis in the Zelensky regime's SBU murdered one of the Ukrainian negotiators;
:Scenario 2: BoJo and NATO thwarted the ceasefire agreement;
:Scenario 3: ongoing (in addition to the NATO attack on the Moskva and other Black Sea events);
:Scenario 4: NATO's Syrian ISIS troops are fighting in the AFU;
:Scenario 5: multiple NATO false flag and information warfare attacks;
:Scenario 6: CCP weather balloon probe of US continental air defense;
:Scenario 7: NATO attack on Belarus.

:Note on counting estimated casualties: In modern warfare, common "foot soldiers" now drive their private vehicles to the battle site. These are classified as "light vehicles" by the Russian MOD. A light vehicle can be a small 2 door sedan or an SUV, pick-up truck, or van. Figure at least 4 casualties per vehicle when Russians report how many "light vehicles" destroyed when retreating from Bakhmut, although IMO there probably aren't many light vehicles left in Bakhmut to evacuate soldiers. Reports as of now are conflicting, claiming somewhere between 3,000 and 10,000 (mostly untrained 16-year-olds, middle aged, and elderly men) remaining in Bakhmut.
:This is a war crime and crime against humanity by Zelensky personally. He sent untrained conscripted men, pressed into service, as cannon fodder in Bakhmut - AFTER Ukrainian forces blew up all the bridges to prevent a Russian advance, as well as preventing these untrained, unprofessional soldiers from retreating. Prigozhin, head of the Wagner group, made a personal appeal to Zelensky to allow them to retreat (the Russians have no interest in killing innocent people). Zelensky made a nationwide broadcast blaming Zaluzhny for the defeat, claiming Zaluzhnyi recommended keeping troops there (and feeding more innocent people into the meatgrinder with no escape). This is a bald-face lie. Zaluzhnyi had been recommending for months to pull out. But Zelensky didn't want to appear to be retreating as he was begging for more money before the U.S. Congress.
:If not for DC control of the Kiev regime, which is getting stronger, Zaluzhny and others would be plotting a coup right now. But they are smart enough to realize they also have to deal with Jake Sullivan and the Americans to keep the gravy train flowing which is already in place. ===Provocations===
:"Broadcasting of several TV channels and radio stations were hacked in Moscow and Leningrad region of Russia and occupied Crimea. Aired missile attack alerts."
Cute. Obviously, a NATO provocation intended to terrorize the civilian population of Moscow and St. Petersberg. Just wait for the reprisal.
In war, nothing is done in isolation. It's always tit-for-tat. Each day that goes by exposes the U.S. civilian population to retaliation. RobSGive Peace a chance 02:02, March 1, 2023 (EST)

:The Russian population is becoming (more accurately has become) convinced that NATO, led by the United States, wants to destroy Russia, which now justifies a nuclear first strike by Russia without warning. American political leaders, like Biden, Lindsey Graham, and Hillary Clinton, calling for the murder of Putin and dismemberment of Russia are words that cannot be taken back in peace negotiation. ===“How Stupid Do They Think We Are?” Nord Stream Pipelines Bombing Edition===
From naked capitalism. Among a multitude of articles right now, we have a good example as to How the information war at the state level is waged. As the Seymour Hersh account of the Nordstream terror attack gains traction, NYT puts out a counter-narrative using anonymous U.S. sources setting the blame on "pro-Ukraine" forces. Remember, the U.S. is not part of any "official" investigation. The purpose of this counter-narrative should be fairly obvious - just as the "lab leak" "theory" was countered with alternative narratives early on, which took two years to unravel, so too now we have this alternative theory to obscure the facts. Likewise we're seeing flailing around to discredit Tucker Carlson's J6 revelations.
But what will be the effect of this Nordstream counter-narrative? Some are speculating that it's part of the first step to tossing Zelensky overboard. We also have the recent article from Consortium news, As Bakhmut Falls, US May Turn From Ukraine, Starting With Pipeline Story. IOWs, the US may already have realized Zelensky and Ukraine is hopeless, but having achieved some limited objectives of supposedly "weakening" Russia (which is debatable, given Russia is fully mobilizing for industrial warfare), US planners now are "pivoting to Asia", i.e. war with China.
My point here is, don't take the bait with these CYA counternarratives like efforts to discredit the lab leak or Seymour Hersh's narrative and waste years of valuable time. Realize, the deep state and uniparty are full of deceptive liars who do not have your best interests, nor that of the American people's best interests, at heart. And that they believe they can control you and your thinking by manipulating social media and MSM narratives. RobSGive Peace a chance 15:23, March 8, 2023 (EST)
:The Consortium news summary is worth quoting at length:

:So with the fall of Bakhmut, we will reach a major turning point. Don't be fooled by the length of time it takes for Bakhmut to fall: Russia will continue its policy of de-militarizing Ukraine as long as Zelensky, the war criminal, is stupid enough to keep senselessly pouring in troops and sending them to certain death. Given the opposition Zelensky has from his generals, the Ukrainian public, the Pentagon, and now unnamed US intelligence officials, he and his wife need to start packing their bags like the Shah and Ferdinand Marcos did. Given the trajectory, it looks like I have another half dozen or dozen more items to add to Conservapedia proven right in the near future.
