The '''Civil Rights Restoration Act''' of 1987 was an override of President [[Ronald Reagan]]'s veto, and also overrode the [[U.S. Supreme Court]] decision of ''Grove City College v. Bell'', 465 U.S. 555 (1984).

This law expands the application of federal laws and regulations, including [[Title IX]], to all the programs of any institution that receives any federal funding, not merely the program benefiting from the funding.

The lopsided vote for this [[politically correct]] bill (and against religious freedom) was 73–24 in the [[Senate]] and 292–133 in [[House]].
