| | :::::What's funny is, back in the days of the CP-Ratwiki wars (which you evidently haven't got the memo yet about the ceasefire and frozen conflict), they used to debate whether or not I was Ukrainian, based on my anti-communism and penchant to mishandle the English language by dropping certain articles and prepositions. I had to assure them, no, I was born in the United States and have studied some German. | − | ::::::I freely admit, I have pretty much always been a Francophobe and not much of an Anglophile. I'm troubled by modern Germany, although I culturally and historically have been a Germanophile. I overcame my own Russophobia in the late 1970s and 1980s with [[Solzhenitsyn]]'s help, understanding that that the Russian people were primarily Christian, and not communist. Of course, America's loss in Vietnam also played a big part in helping me to see the lies and propaganda in American media, culture, films, etc. about communism and Russia. | + | ::::::I freely admit, I have pretty much always been a Francophobe and not much of an Anglophile.
