Don't think it is off topic. One of the reasons people supported Trump is to destroy the Deep State. He did do some good things, but he couldn't do that. I think De Santis would, or at least would significantly reduce their power.
Most conservatives don't understand that "laissez-faire" anarchism is not acceptable in government. That's not what "limited government" should mean when it comes to dealing with evildoers. If you can't be tough in dealing with bad guys, you don't belong in government.
Here's what Saint Paul taught on that in the Epistle to the Romans: "3For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Do you want to be unafraid of the one in authority? Then do what is right, and you will have his approval. 4For he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not carry the sword in vain. He is God’s servant, an agent of retribution to the wrongdoer. 5Therefore it is necessary to submit to authority, not only to avoid punishment, but also as a matter of conscience" (Roman 13:3-5)
