, 21:41, June 28, 2023→Why do most Christian Histories of Evangelization skip some 1000-1500 years?
:Yah, it's what many call, "The Dark Ages", etc. Big question. Careful though, 1700-1750 is the period communists writers will call the beginning of the "Age of Imperialism", while others are going to say it reflects the Protestant Reformation, equating the Roman Catholic Church with the Dark Ages. :The name, "Dark Ages" can be misleading, implying something sinister and oppressive occurred. What it really means is that there isn't a lot of valid historical writings to go covering a very long passage of time (largely due to widespread illiteracy); and those writings tend to be connected with the church. So in the so-called "Enlightened" Era, atheist bigots tended to just dismiss those writings as being from a "dark" and sinister time.
