We have already had unrejoicing occasion to draw to the attention of our readers the illiterate wisdom which from time to time on a mimeographed sheet called "The Canadian Arab." ... seems to have as its sole purpose the noble pleading of the unhappy cause of the banished Mufti and his Effendis.
Its editorial masthead announces the publisher as "The Canadian Arab News Service. A non profit organization sponsored by M. S. Masoud in the interests of better relations between Canada and the Arab world."
No one will gainsay but that this is a worthy objective.
There is a great necessity for better relations between Canada and the Arab world, which
in Iraq attempted treachery against pur cause, in Palestine stood indifferent to our struggle, and in Egypt remained neutral as Rommel marched on Cairo. We do think, however, that. it will require more that Massoud's mimeograph machine to reach that objective. But the objective, as we said, remains a good one.
It is regrettable only that the generous non-profit making sponsor has seen no other way to attempt to reach the objective, but through systematic and unscrupulous slandering of Jews.
