So now the NATO and Ukrainian forces are only 12 kilometers from the Russian first of 5 lines of fortified defenses.

:The Russian withdrawal and Ukrainian occupation of half of Robotino is reminiscent of last years withdrawal for Kherson and parts of Kharkov province/ Initially, Ukrainian "strategic" commanders (if there is such a thing) said Russian fortifications had to be breached in the first 10 days of the counteroffensive; its now 90 days. (This would be like [[Eisenhower]] taking 90 days to land his first beachhead on Omaha Beach, leaving tens of thousands of corpses floating in the English Channel. He's run out of men before ever accomplishing his plans.)

Russia doesn't need anymore land or borders to defend. Russian military doctrine is not focused on land or territory, its focused on people. Russia is always willing to cede land to an attacker to bait them in and extend their supply lines.
