::Okay, I reviewed the Pike document. From a historical research perspective, there several obvious problem with it.
:::(1) It's not the letter itself;
:::(2) the Zionist movement didn't begin until 1894;
:::(3) there was no such thing Nazism or fascism in 1871, etc.
::The significance, as I would understand it, is August 1871 is a few months after the birth of the [[Second Reich]]. It was born out of the [[Franco-Prussian War]]. The Second Reich lasted only 44 years - barely one natural lifetime. IOWs, many people who fought in the German War of Unification or lived through those events also witnessed the German Empire's demise.
::So whoever wrote that document is paraphrasing events from a much later historical perspective, and taking some liberties. Nothing I say is definitive, and perhaps there's a lot of missing context.
