In researching the Lvov pogrom, it is not really as difficult to establish what happened as might appear at first glance, despite scholarly disputes. Looking at the population statistics here,
According to the last census conducted in 1931, the ethnic composition of Lvov consisted of:
*Polish 64%
*Hebrew & Yiddish 24%
*Ukrainian 11%
According to the 2001 census the ethnic composition of Lvov consisted of:
*Ukrainian 88%
*Jewish 0.3%
*Polish 0.9%]
You can see this was the results of Hitler's [[Lebensraum]] program that created "living space" for Ukrainians.
