The Drakeford junta's final act of tyranny came on 23 February 2024 with the so-called "Sustainable Farming Scheme". This is in line with the "sustainable development" goals of [[Agenda 2030]]. The proposal, widely opposed by farmers and indeed the general public in Wales, sought to force farmers to allot 10% of their land to planting trees, and also restricted the use of fertilisers. Welsh farmers viewed the regulations as a threat to their livelihoods, and by the junta's own admission, the policy could result in over 5000 job losses. The loathed proposals sparked the largest protest outside of the Welsh legislature the Senedd in history.<ref>[https://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/world/article/farmers-rally-around-welsh-capital-in-latest-18693851.php Farmers rally around Welsh capital in latest protest over proposed environmental rules] </ref><ref>[https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/live-updates-thousands-farmers-set-28707123 Farmers protest in Wales saw tractors close main road and thousands descend on Cardiff]</ref>
