The '''Assassination attempt on President Donald Trump''' occurred in Butler, [[Pennsylvania]] on July 13, 2024, by a shooter named Thomas Matthew Crooks (not to be confused with the Thomas Crooks who donated to the democratic party when the shooter was still a minor).  [[President Donald J. Trump]] was on stage at [[MAGA]] rally while campaigning for the [[2024 Presidential election]], and only minutes into his speech when the shooting began.

The shooter fired perhaps as many as 8 shots before being killed by authorities.  Trump was injured by a bullet penetrating his right ear, but not his skull.  An attendee died and two were seriously injured. Trump himself dropped down as he heard many bullets and was wounded by one, and then was quickly shielded by the Secret Service. As Trump stood up, he was then shielded by agents.<ref>[https://www.foxnews.com/politics/assassination-attempt-trump-pennsylvania-rally-leaves-2-hurt-1-dead-including-shooter Assassination attempt on Trump at Pennsylvania rally leaves 2 hurt, 1 dead including shooter].
