a start

'''Gettysburg reunions''' were spectacular events whereby combatants in the [[Battle of Gettysburg]] reunited annually for handshakes and commemorative ceremonies.

More than 53,000 attended the 1913 Gettysburg reunion, and a colorized photograph hangs at The Wall. 90% of them slept in the field or in tents.

The final reunion was the 75th anniversary, held in 1938, when only 1800 survivors were still alive and in attendance. They would all have been more than 90 years old by then.
