:A few points:
:1. It is true that the more a society tolerates homosexuality, the more of it there is all other things being equal ([[Ceteris peribus]]). But 40% of people in Russia are neutral towards homosexuality or for it.
:2. The largest Russian gay club business with clubs in Moscow/St. Petersburg is still open and its been open since 2014 (See: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_Station_(gay_club) Central Station (gay club)]). There are other gay clubs in Moscow and St. Petersburg too. Yes, there have been past raids claiming suspected drugs at these places, but they stay open. It
:3. Russia decriminalized homosexuality in 1991 so its not illegal to be a homosexual in Russia.
:4. Militaristic countries like Communist China, the Soviet Union, Cuba, Russia and Nazi Germany (Pink triangle, etc.) have been anti-gay. Guys with perceived limp wrists aren't associated with being able to do a lot of military grade pushups nor do they breed new soldiers.
:5. To solve a problem you have to get at the root cause. Christianity lessons people odds of becoming homosexuals (if they don't fall away) and turns people into ex-gays (The Apostle Paul testifies to this in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11).
