Augustine was mistaken on two points:  he felt that the [[Gospel of Matthew]] was written before the [[Gospel of Mark]] (the reverse is true), and he felt that any conflicts in the [[Bible]] with [[science]] should be viewed as allegory rather than [[truth]] (in fact, science is what has been repeatedly shown to be false whenever it has conflicted with the Bible, see [[Biblical scientific foreknowledge]]).
