I have to say that when I voted for Trump, I had no idea I was voting for across-the-board tariffs. Trump negotiated the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) free trade agreement in July 2020. He has torn up that agreement given no explanation. Biden raised tariffs more than Trump did in his first term. Yeah, Trump talked a lot about tariffs and they have always been an issue close to his heart. But I assumed he meant tariffs against China. Stocks are down by four percent since the start of the tariff whirlwind. The tariff "pause" has yet to lead to any recovery.
