Once I quoted [[Chaucer]] to a narcissist, "Your best protection is the love of others." This made him change the subject after becoming uneasy, because he knew he had been untruthful with those who loved him and for that reason felt a chronic insecurity about whether they would support him, and so he also cut them off to certain degrees if he discovered they couldn't be useful in other ways to spite that same love which was unreliable in his perspective.
That's what comes to mind when I see my contributions on this page torched after having my access throttled for two-and-a-half-months.
This also reflects a cleanliness fetish, "In for a penny, in for a pound". If the designated scapegoat invests in a single share of a project, to be sure that doesn't anger God, the whole project has to be scrapped. What is the fallacy in this line of thinking? A Christian ought to know. A hint is that this is part of the old "fairness" not the new fairness.
And we ought to know the noblest fetish is still a fetish.
