He is a Russian imperialist who recently violated the airspace of several NATO countries.  And Trump called Putin "crazy".  Judging from history such as Germany and Japan, Russia will not give up its taste for imperialism until it suffers a major blow/defeat.  Russia's economy is struggling right now.
