:::::As a person who studied martial arts, I like the fact that Putin is a black belt in Judo even though he was beaten by  a little [https://www.youtube.com/shorts/aX6sB5yxQkw Japanese girl in Japan in an exhibition round]. And unlike his ally Xi Jinping, Putin is not anti-Christian (Although his church attendance is sparse and he is divorced and apparently engaging in fornication). But I am definitely in favor of the degree of corruption and imperialism happening under Putin. Finally, historically Russia has been more prosperous when it wasn't anti-Western. Given that Russia was selling its oil/gas at a much higher profit margin to the West than to China/India/etc., his anti-Westernism appears to be self-defeating for Russia. Russia could be doing much better economically. For example, over the last 20 years, the former Soviet Republics Latvia and Estonia have done a lot better than Russia in terms of GDP per capita when measured in purchasing power parity terms.
