==Theory of Relativity fallacies==
[[Albert Einstein]]'s [[Theory of Relativity]] has been shown to be fallacious recently.
One of the key assumptions, the constancy of the speed of light, has been shown to have no empirical basis.
Einstein based Relativity on what he declared to be his own willingness to believe a certain interpretation of the [[Michelson-Morley experiment]], of which other interpretations exist.. Einstein wasn't willing to regard it as just a hypothesis, even if scientific discretion called for it.

E=mc<sup>2</sup> has taken it on the chin as well. It seems that this formula was originally determined to measure the kinetic energy of physical waves. [[Henri Poincaré]] speculated that subatomic particles traveled in waves, so he backfigured the mass of those particles from the kinetic energy that would be given if the particles moved as waves, if I am reading the story right.
Einstein made the illicit conversion that the formula applied to mass generally, and I am given to understand that he never returned to the wave property to which the formula was only originally meant to apply, regardless of whether he believed at any given time that a wave-medium that the "ether" was meant to represent existed or not.
===A craving for relativity===
Persons who want to believe their beliefs are just "relative" and not adverse apparently crave the ability to be able to point to something in nature that reflects that and may take a hysterical leap that underlying formulas that support that "relativity" must be true without due consideration.
Eddington's supposed "proof" of relativity came a short time after World War I where a ham-fisted verification in nature that national loyalties were only relative to some other standard that could be later manipulated by future select politicians would have been greatly desirable by Communists and various academic eggheads.
This continued to the present day where it's used to justify suppressing free speech, as being a reflection in nature in opposition to those who call same-sex marriage contrary to the justice that regards same-sex attachments as unequal and/or adverse to heterosexual ones.
