Islamist bomb threats have closed schools across Northern Ireland.

Some 300 schools had received a bomb threat that had originated from outside the UK, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said.

In Scotland, meanwhile, a number of schools also received “threatening messages”, which Police Scotland are treating as hoaxes.

A Queens man charged with mowing down a 71-year-old woman in a Jewish neighborhood has now been hit with hate crime charges for allegedly trashing a local kosher bagel shop twice just days earlier, prosecutors said Monday.

Dawood Faisal, 22, who was already behind bars on manslaughter charges in the May 25 death of Cara Trager on Union Parkway, was indicted on separate raps for allegedly vandalizing Bagels & Co., a Jewish-owned shop that displayed Israeli flags and banners, the Queens District Attorney’s Office said.

According to prosecutors, Dawood, of Fresh Meadows, first vandalized the bagel shop shortly after 6:15 p.m. on May 15, knocking over nine metal plant stands outside, then picking up the dirt and hurling it at the building.

He allegedly returned on May 23 and pushed over and kicked 11 of the plant stands and threw dirt outside the shop, then uprooted greenery from a large clay pot and tossed it, the DA said.

Two days later, he allegedly sped through the neighborhood in his 2013 Toyota Prius doing 75 mph in the 35 mph zone, running a red light on Francis Lewis Boulevard and striking Trager and her husband, Michael — who miraculously survived.

Faisal fled the scene but he crashed the car and bystanders held him until cops arrived.

In June, he was indicted on manslaughter and assault charges, while Michael Trager launched a campaign to have the fatal hit-and-run designated a hate crime given the vandalism incidents.

A poll claiming Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass was leading Council member Nithya Raman by a wide margin — and picking up support from most voters who supported Spencer Pratt in the mayoral primary — was bogus, the company behind the poll acknowledged Monday.

But Monday, in response to repeated inquiries from The Times, the company said the purported “poll” was nothing of the kind. “Median Strategies was created as a short term social experiment to examine how purported polling information could enter and spread through the political information ecosystem without independent verification,” the company said in an email to The Times.

Now it’s another firm, Wedgewood Strategies, that claims to have been running another social experiment.

After getting caught, Wedgewood claims that it was engaged in an “experimental project to demonstrate the vulnerabilities, lack of oversight, and overall low barrier to entry in the modern political polling industry.”

It didn’t however make this statement until it got caught.

And this is impacting the perception of races and the spending that goes into them.

The sample of polls for this average doesn’t include an older poll that showed Marshall with a 5-point lead. That poll is the biggest reason for Marshall’s lead in the RealClearPolitics average.

But 270toWin does include a survey from Wedgewood Polls, a group that appeared suddenly this year, that shows Hamilton up by 2 points.
