Victimhood is a potent political tool. And earlier this month, Abdul El-Sayed, Michigan’s Democratic U.S. Senate candidate, gave a master class on how to use it.
 +
 +
At a town hall in Caro, Michigan, a young man in the audience asked El-Sayed if he disavowed the Muslim Brotherhood, which the man called a terrorist group. “Sure, yeah, absolutely,” the candidate responded. Then he flipped it: “Why are you asking the question?” The audience member said he asked because he had not yet heard El-Sayed disavow the group.

I have spoken out against anti-Muslim hate in the Michigan Senate race. I will speak out just as loudly when the target is Jewish people.
 +
Let me state a little-known fact: ISRAEL GETS LESS THAN 0.1 PERCENT OF THE FEDERAL BUDGET. That’s less than one tenth of a percent!
 +
But there is an ad running that tells voters they can’t afford groceries because the United States gives so much money to Israel. In reality, the United States spends money in and on countries all around the world – but this ad singles out the Jewish state. The ad is as dangerous as it is dishonest.
 +
You can disagree with how the United States spends money abroad. But telling hungry families that the Jewish state is the reason they are suffering is wrong and shameful.
 +
Blaming Jews for people’s problems is an old story. Anybody who has read the last century of history knows where it leads. It is a dark pathway.
 +
This ad is anti-Jewish hate and should come down immediately. Abdul El-Sayed should denounce it today.

High school student accused of trying to make bombs for ISIS, deputies say. By Ryan Wyatt Turbeville, WCJB/Gray News, October 28, 2026.
 +
 +
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB/Gray News) – A Florida high school student was arrested after an investigation into his contact with a terrorist organization revealed he was attempting to make bombs, authorities said.
 +
 +
Alachua County sheriff’s deputies said the 15-year-old is a student at Buchholz High School.
 +
 +
The sheriff’s office and FBI conducted a joint investigation on Friday at the teen’s home after investigators learned he was having online conversations with members and supporters of the Islamic State group, also known as ISIS.
 +
 +
Investigators say the teen asked for help to build drones and explosives to attack people at an unknown location.
 +
 +
Authorities spoke with the 15-year-old’s parents, who allowed them to search the boy’s phone. They reportedly found files containing instructions for making explosive devices and chemical compounds, as well as ISIS propaganda.
 +
 +
On Monday, investigators searched the teen’s home with his parents’ consent after they revealed the information found on the phone.
 +
 +
Inside, they found two jars in his bedroom. The 15-year-old reportedly told investigators the jars contained chemicals used to make “TATP,” or triacetone triperoxide, a dangerous explosive….
 +
 +
Family members said off camera that they still had many questions about the investigation and declined to comment further.

Expert details how far-left groups are funding chaotic France protests
 +
Asra Nomani discusses how far-left networks are funding chaotic France protests. The senior investigations editor breaks down a Fox News Digital investigation exposing how radical adult groups, pro-communist outlets, and far-left organizations are bankrolling the ongoing unrest, revealing that fewer than one-third of the fifty active organizations are actually student or youth groups.
 +
 +
Communist revolutionaries, socialist activists and pro-Palestinian agitators from a network of 106 organizations are preparing to stage a carefully choreographed spectacle of global unrest Friday at ports from Oakland, Calif., to Mumbai, India, as they protest Israel and "capitalist barbarism."
 +
 +
A Fox News Digital investigation reveals that, far from a spontaneous eruption of outrage, the worldwide mobilization has been meticulously organized, with groups in the so-called "red-green" alliance of communist, socialist and pro-Palestinian movements spending the past week coordinating strikes, demonstrations and publicity around a common international playbook.
 +
 +
Organizers are targeting 113 ports across 22 countries and regions on five continents, seeking to transform the world's commercial shipping hubs into stages for a synchronized show of opposition to Israel, NATO, Western military policies and the global capitalist system.

WASSERMAN SCHULTZ: Yes.
 +
 +
TAPPER: -- in the Senate race in Michigan, Congresswoman Haley Stevens, who's not Jewish but has been pushing the Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed to condemn the ad that many people interpret to be anti-Semitic that talks about people not being able to afford groceries because of aid to Israel to take down Abdul El-Sayed's ad in which he features Tucker Carlson and then also to apologize for comments he's made in which he blames affordability issues on Israel in some ways. Other people think that Haley Stevens should shut up and support the Democrat, get in line. Because what's more important is having a Senate that can be a check on President Trump. What do you think?
 +
 +
[17:20:18]
 +
 +
WASSERMAN SCHULTZ: Well, I certainly don't think that MAGA Mike Rogers should be elected to the United States Senate. But that having been said, I don't think that El-Sayed has done enough to address the concerns that the Jewish community has about his incendiary comments. And I do think that that ad needs to come down. You know, as a candidate myself, I know when you -- what leverage you have and the weight that you can use to insist that people who have put an ad up that you don't agree with, that you can demand that they take it down, you can condemn it. I mean, for an ad to be running against his opponent in support of, you know, theoretically in support of El-Sayed to suggest that gas prices and costs at the grocery store increasing are the fault of Jews and Israelis as opposed to laying it right at the feet where it belongs, and that is Donald Trump and his horrific policies. I just -- it's incomprehensible to me that he hasn't forcefully condemned it and insisted that the ad come down.

Mike Rogers:

Representative Haley Stevens is a courageous leader who deserves the respect of every Michigan voter. She has conducted herself with nothing but class since the Democratic primary, a primary where a majority of voters did not vote for her party’s nominee.
 +
She was absolutely right to call on Abdul El-Sayed to denounce the Rebellion PAC ad and she was right to call on him to apologize for espousing the same hateful ideology behind it.
 +
Representative Stevens’ statement expressed a hope that Abdul El-Sayed “had heard the deep concerns of the Jewish Community.” It is as shameful as it is disappointing that his response to her clearly shows that he does not care about those concerns.
 +
In her statement, the Congresswoman says, “the Jewish and African-American communities of my district deserve to have someone show up for them, rather than fight over them.”

Haley Stevens’ Fiancé Escalates El-Sayed Feud Days Before Midterms.
 +
Oct 31, 2026.

 +
 +
Jason Turkish, the fiancé of former Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Haley Stevens, accused the party's Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed of escalating rhetoric that makes Jewish people unsafe, deepening an intraparty feud days before the midterms.
 +
 +
The immediate fight centers partly on a digital advertisement produced by Rebellion PAC, an outside group supporting El-Sayed that describes itself as a movement that rejects “the corporate-driven status quo” and stands “against the establishment.”
 +
 +
The advertisement shows a couple grocery shopping and talking about putting back a carton of eggs because “we have to set that $7 aside for killing Palestinians,” before criticizing U.S. military assistance to Israel in its war in Gaza. Stevens, a U.S. Representative who lost to El-Sayed in the August primary, characterized the advertisement as antisemitic and called on him to condemn it.
 +
 +
The ad was not broadcast but was shared widely on social media.
 +
 +
A spokesperson for his Republican opponent Mike Rogers accused El-Sayed’s allies of “anti-Israel hate,” while the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) called the ad a “case study in antisemitism.”
 +
 +
El-Sayed did not produce or approve the ad, however, and has distanced himself from it.
 +
 +
“Abdul is focused on pushing back against Trump’s agenda that is raising prices for Michiganders. No one speaks for Abdul but himself and his campaign,” a spokesperson previously told Newsweek.
 +
 +
Stevens also called on El-Sayed, who would become the nation's first Muslim U.S. senator if elected, to apologize for his own comments connecting U.S. spending on Israel with Michigan’s affordability problems and to remove a separate campaign advertisement featuring conservative commentator Tucker Carlson “out of the same respect for Michigan’s Black community.”
 +
 +
“Abdul promises to get money out of politics,” Stevens said in a statement. “He can begin by getting Israel out of his explanation for everything Michigan cannot afford.”
 +
 +
Despite the public dispute, Stevens continues to support El-Sayed and has said she intends to vote for him over Rogers. However, Turkish said he's voting for the Republican.
 +
 +
“Like a lot of households across America, we're a household divided,” the congresswoman said on CNN. “I still very much want our Democratic nominee, his name is Abdul, to win this race, there's so much on the line. I want our Democrats to win; I want to see Abdul do the right thing here.”
 +
 +
Meanwhile, El-Sayed's campaign has reportedly asked Stevens not to attend his remaining campaign events, according to two sources familiar with the matter who spoke to Politico.
 +
 +
What Jason Turkish Said:
 +
During an interview appearance on Fox & Friends on Saturday, Turkish, who is Jewish and a civil rights attorney, said his fiancé "has made it clear to anyone who will listen that she remains on Team Dem,” adding that Stevens' "only ask, small ask, was to say that we not blame all of society’s high costs on one group of people.”
 +
 +
“We spend only a few billion dollars a year, and I say that in quotes, on support for a very strategic ally in the Middle East,” Turkish said. “If we chose not to do that tomorrow, that's not enough money to solve hunger in America, or healthcare in America or rebuild our schools in America. But yet, Abdul tells folks that that's what stands in our way.”
 +
 +
Turkish also accused the Senate hopeful of using rhetoric that endangers Jewish people.
 +
 +
“And it puts Jews at risk,” he said. “And my phone has just rung off the hook for days and days now with Jewish friends and family members in Michigan and beyond, around the world, just besides themselves, that it has come to this.”
 +
 +
Earlier this week, Turkish told The Detroit News that he had seen what he described as “an escalation” in El-Sayed’s rhetoric since the primary and argued that it was making Jewish residents less safe. He added: “Every time he talks about genocide [in Gaza], Jews get death threats.”
 +
 +
Turkish also told the newspaper that he would vote for Rogers in what he described as a decision to put “country before party.”

The Muslim voter advocacy group Emgage estimates that there are more than 200,000 registered Muslim voters in Michigan. By comparison, Michigan is home to roughly 105,000 Jewish adults, about 1.4 percent of the state's electorate, according to the American Jewish Population Project at Brandeis University. Republican-aligned estimates run higher, up to 130,000.
 +
 +
"It is important to remember that no state has a higher percentage of Arab-American residents in the U.S. than Michigan. The Jewish population is less than half that of the Arab-American population there," Jim Kessler, executive vice president for policy at the centrist Democratic think tank Third Way, previously told Newsweek.
 +
 +
Turnout narrows the gap, Kessler warned. Jewish voters participate at high rates, while Muslim turnout has historically lagged. In the 2018 midterms, 50 percent of registered Muslim voters in Michigan cast ballots, according to Emgage.

CNN Amplifies El-sayed’s Diversion—and Helps Him Dodge The Demand To Reject Hatred.
 +
 +
Lulu Garcia-Navarro, hosting CNN, NewsNight, Oct. 30, 2026.
 +
 +
Regarding Haley Stevens’ demand that El-Sayed denounce Hasan Piker’s uncle, Cenk Uygur [both Islamic bigots], for [falsely] blaming grocery prices on [Jews] aid to Israel, Stevens graciously gave El-Sayed an opportunity to reject hate, which he refused to do.
 +
 +
A. She equated the epidemic of Goliath antisemitism with what the Kamala Harris campaigner Mike Nellis kept talking about and defined as “Islamophobia.” She omitted the serious Muslim Brotherhood questions and denied that El-Sayed’s letter supported the MB.
 +
 +
B. She took the time to replay an audio clip of El-Sayed in which he (peddled the dual Pallywood buzzwords including the GenoLIE and) deceptive El Sayed begins with: "You know, it's not about Israel. It's about the opportunity cost of our tax dollars that get sent over there," but he spoke only about money to Israel that is not "spent here." Not about aid Arabs or aid ro Ukraine for that matter, which exposes El-Sayed’s obvious insincerity about “spending the money here” and masks his raw, scary Israelophobia obsession, so obvious.
 +
 +
What wasn't emphasized enough on CNN:
 +
- (1) The fact that aid to Arabs - $6.7 billion - surpasses aid to Israel by almost double.
 +
- (2) The fact that this amounts to just one-twentieth of one percent of the federal budget.
 +
[American benefit of aiding Israel: Supporting Israel is not just about helping another country. It is about investing in a strategic ally that purchases American military equipment, supports American manufacturing jobs, collaborates with American scientists and defense companies, shares intelligence, develops advanced technologies, and contributes to regional security. The United States benefits economically through defense contracts and trade, technologically through joint innovation, and strategically through a capable partner in a critical region. The real question isn't simply how much aid America gives Israel, but what America receives in return and what it might cost to lose that partnership].
 +
- (3) The sneaky deceptive ad portrays American weapons as tools for supposedly just-killing Palestinian Arabs without mentioning the defensive weapons to save lives [- not to mention "Palestine" Islamic regime or Iran's Hezbollah using civilians causing their deaths on their genocidal wars].
 +
- (4) The fact that there is no real connection to grocery prices.
 +
- (5) Navarro chose to pick a cheap-shot comment from a viewer about Haley Stevens: “As a woman, I know how petty we can be when we are bitter.”
 +
 +
Stevens is sincere. Once again, the seriousness of this Nazi-like ad, was not emphasized.
 +
 +
Last exchanges:
 +
 +
'GARCIA-NAVARRO: Wait a second. Just to that point. I don't doubt her sincerity on the cause and the issue. You know.
 +
Why should I? But, is this really the moment?
 +
WRIGHT: Yes. I think so. It shouldn't be mutually exclusive. It should be the moment when it's politically convenient to stand up for the things that you believe in.
 +
NELLIS: Can I say something? These are the last four days that anyone's going to care what Haley Stevens has to say, so she's gotten the most out of it.
 +
GARCIA-NAVARRO: Oh. Okay, that's a little harsher than even these comments.'
 +

 +
 +
It's rather a dumb question about Stevens' "timing" instead of acknowledging her sincere stand against hate. A reminder: The analogy to Nazi Germany in the 1930s with this ad wasn't even made by Republicans.
 +
 +
And while El-Sayed keeps mentioning AIPAC at a time when he gets millions from others, Stevens proved that she is about principles.
 +
 +
C. Above all, Nellis/ El-Sayed line as if this were still about the primaries, was promoted, overlooking the fact that Stevens was ready to campaign with El-Sayed if he would simply reject the bigotry.
 +
 +
By the next day, October 31, CNN had already fully promoted Mike Nellis’s talking point. Worse, it camouflaged and sugarcoated the vile ad, describing it merely as “criticism of aid to Israel”:
 +
 +
The CNN ticker described it as an “advertisement criticizing United States’ aid to Israel.”
 +
 +
And the article was framed this way:
 +
 +
“Michigan Democratic unity teeters as Abdul El-Sayed tells primary rival to stay away from his events.
 +
This comes as El-Sayed brushed off Rep. Haley Stevens after she called on him to denounce an outside group’s anti-Israel ad.”
 +
And quoted Nellis: "Mike Nellis: 'I think it's sour grapes from Haley Stevens... "

A reminder from a famous Democrat who worked for Obama, Van Jones:
 +
 +
'Let me state a little-known fact: ISRAEL GETS LESS THAN 0.1 PERCENT OF THE FEDERAL BUDGET.
Abdul El-Sayed should denounce it today.'

 +
 +
To be fair, The Situation Room's Pamela Brown was spot on interviewingwith Rep. Debbie Dingell reminding that the ad was deemed hateful.

Israeli boxer Ahavat Hashem Gordon encountered an antisemitic incident on a street in Thailand when a passerby shouted anti-Jewish and anti-Israel remarks at him while he was filming a video with his friends.
 +
 +
During the filming, a passerby approached him and shouted, "Jewish boy, Free Palestine."
 +
 +
Following the incident, Gordon posted a story on his Instagram account addressing what had happened and describing the man as "just a stupid antisemite."
 +
 +
Alongside his criticism, the boxer sought to share advice with his followers about how to respond in similar situations, warning against allowing such encounters to escalate into violence.
 +
 +
"No matter what, don't get dragged into physical violence. It's not worth the risk," Gordon wrote.
 +
 +
He added, "Usually, they expect you not to respond, and once you do respond, they run away (like what happened here)."
