The '''Tamil kingdoms''' were the kingdoms of southern [[India]], inhabited primarily by speakers of the [[Dravidian]] languages. They developed in partial isolation and somewhat differently from the [[Aryan]] north. The kingdoms produced their own epics, poetry, and arts. Parts of Tamil religious beliefs were merged into [[Hinduism]].
