Recent anti-government riots have gripped [[Burma (Myanmar)|Burma]], with widespread involvement of the [[Buddhist]] Clergy. The monks of Burma are so widely revered in their homeland that any attack on them could spark a national uprising against the government. Already comparisons have been made to the 1988 Uprising against the Military Junta, but so far it seems to have been attempts by the Burmese officials to disperse the growing crowds of protesters. Tougher curfew laws have been passed and the officials are beginning to crack down, but no end to the conflict seems to be far away. The Bush administration has reacted by passing trade sanctions against the Burmese regime.

What had originally started out as protests against rising fuel prices may just evolve into a prosperous democratic future for the Burmese people. The [[Bush administration]] has reacted by passing [[trade sanctions]] against the tyrannous Burmese regime.

Contrary to the American tradition, in East Asia protests often involve deliberately staged clashes between protesters and riot police. Western news media often omit this aspect and downplay the strategy of protesters, in order to imply falsely that a peaceful protest was suddenly and inexplicably turned into an atrocious violation of human rights. [[Liberals]] like to pretend that countries friendly to the [[United States]] are more anti-democratic than they really are, just another [[MSM]] [[Deceit]].
