According to the origins theory model used by  creation scientists, modern elephants, like all modern animals, originated in the Middle East and are the descendants of the two founding members of the modern elephants that were taken aboard Noah's Ark prior to the Great Flood.

According to microevolution, the two present species could easily have developed from one original pair.  

 

Elephants have a long nose because God wanted it that way.
